EACT Survey 2026: Treasury Priorities, from Cash Forecasting to Tokenisation

François Masquelier, Chair of EACT, unpacks the 2026 EACT Treasury Survey. He explains why cash-flow forecasting is back at number one while its accuracy stays stubbornly low, how long-term funding became the survey's most urgent theme despite fewer mentions (a sign the era of cheap long-term debt is over), and the spectacular rise of digitalisation to second place, with most treasurers still replacing ageing TMS platforms and building data foundations rather than reaching the AI frontier. He closes on tokenisation, new to the survey this year: modest adoption today, high intent for tomorrow, led by tokenised payments and stablecoins, and a horizon theme EACT will keep tracking.
